So its week thirtyteen of quarantine, we have run out of LaCroix to mix with our vodka, enter the Cranberry Lemonade Quarantini.  AKA the drink I could make a pitcher of without going to the grocery store. You may be asking yourself, why does Michelle have so many lemons? Well, that’s what happens when you hoard things is the simple answer. The actual answer is I made an ill-advised purchase at Costco What are two quarantined people going to do with 10 pounds of lemons? Make lemonade…with vodka and cranberry.

It’s just a regular Martini, but you drink it alone in your house

We are on lockdown in South Florida on our five-acre horse farm, so it’s not that bad. Not that we don’t keep looking at the clock waiting until its five o’clock, but when it is, we can sit by the pool for happy hour. We are trying to limit day drinking to weekends, holidays and Trump press conferences. I honestly don’t know how you homeschooling parents can teach while lacing your morning OJ with vodka, more power to you. I am so happy that everyone relying on me, other than my husband, has four legs.

Making cocktails during quarantine

Many local bars are offering curbside to-go cocktails, and this is a good option if your bar or pantry is running low. It also helps support a local business, or you buy a T-shirt from my favorite bar. But before you leave the house in search of a libation, exhaust your existing supplies. If you have extra oranges or grapefruit, use them up! If you are out of vodka, try adding another liquor. Only have wine? The fruit cups your kid’s aren’t taking to school are great for making sangria. I opted for Splenda in the lemonade because its fewer calories, and we all have been doing a lot of stress eating, but if you don’t have it any sweetener will work.
